We are exploring what we believ to be the conservatory as ther are large chairs and instrubments positioned around the room. Thankfully johnny is able to cure his poison before the real battle starts. As we enter the room and start looking around, we are attached by several robed cultists. Their heads are covered in tatoos and their ears are adorned with earrings. Each of them is wielding a scimitar. Ted is immediately paralysed but manages to shake it off in time to put the hurt on these cultists. Even though the battle leans in our direction after a few rounds, none of us is prepared for one of the cultists to stand up...HEADLESS...and attacks me. Randal was there to kill the vile creature before I could take serious damage. Once the tatoos face away we know the battle is over. steven is able to remove my paralysis with lessor restoration.

CURRENT:

Day 42: 6:00pm One Hour In The House

We take time to search the bodies and get 8 gp 8 sp for the party fund. Ted casts detech magic as a ritual. We are on the 2nd floor and my homoculus is on the stairs to the 3rd floor waiting for anyone to come back. I tell the party that the rod is pulling us down and to the south and outside.

We all head upstairs with ted in the lead. I call my homoculus to my back and we are all on the stairs. When we get to the top of the room we see a suit of armor. The stairs just open to a room. There is a double door at the end of the landing. Ted take time to seravh for foot prints and can tell that there has been a great deal of traffic.

We go to the double doors and there is another one that we can't see. Johnny checks for traps and finds no traps. Kenneth takes time to search for the smaller door but decides not to open. As i get ready for mage hand, ted runs up and kicks the door open. this is the master bedroom with closed burgendy drapes.

There is a brown bear rug in the middle of the floor and the room is nice and clean. Two wardrobes and a vanity with a jewerly box. there is a large bed and a parlor. Ted walks into the room and start to stab the bear and then the curtains. Randal notices that the dumb waiter is in the same place as the one in the kitchen. There is a linen closet but ted does not stab.

Johnny moves into the room, but NOT to steal the jewelery box. Johnny checks the jewelery box for traps and does not find any traps. He takes just of his dagger and tries to life the lid. He is able to unlatch the box with his dagger and manages to open it. He sees three golden rings and a thin platnimu necklace with a topaz.

I move to the door of the room but do not go in yet. I instruct my homuculus to stand in the hallway and attack anyone unknown that may come up. I am waiting for soemthing to happen.

Johnny is able to open the jewelery box and put it into his bag of holding so that the rings fall into the bag without us seeing and the necklace is the only thing in the box. I take out and use my Wand of Secrets and detect something on the wall that randal searched. I move back and let the other take a crack at either the secret door or trap. Ted takes time and searching the drapes but does not find anything.

Steven opens the door and finds that it is a balcony. Nothing special. He searches the wardrobe and only finds cloths.

Kenneth takes a look at the wall but does not see any traps or secret door at first. When he looks again he is able to view the door and figure out how to open the door. As the door opens we can view a small 5 ft hallway choked with cobwebs and the stairs go ... up. While we look at the new open door, Randal takes time to look under the bed and sees nothing. He stands and moves to the new door.

Johnny goes out of the room and seaerches the single door that we passed. No traps and he decides to open it. Johnny discoveres this is a bathroom. This is a good sized bathroom and is empty. There is a small wooden stove to heat water. This is simalar to the kitchen pipes. Nothing in this room. Johnny has to take the iron kettle.

I call my spider and send it up to the stair and instruct it to alert me if it sees anything. I take time to secretly open a window. The view is to the back of the house to a garden. I manged to get to window open. it opens and nothing happens.

Johnny goes up the stairs and manages to open the door. Ted enters the room and sees that there has been a bit of struggle. One of the dressors has been tipped over. Ted notices that there is a glass door to a balcony with the glass broken out. The door to the balcony is broken out but not unlocked. Johnny takes time to investigate with ted and they determine that there was a struggle and something hit the door. There is water on the floor which means that the glass was broken in the last few hours as it was raining earlier. It does not look like someone seardhed the room but just struggled and furnature has been tipped.

steven enters the room and checks the vanity. The items and simple pictures are indicitable of a a childs room. The picture is of an older woman adult Brigetta, Rose, and Thorn.

Kenneth goes over to a door in the room and opens the door from the hallway. This is like a nursery. There is nothing else in this room. While Kenneth is standing at the door, he is forced to make a d12. He forgot to look up. At the last moment he notices something crawling on the ceiling. He sees a feral looking humanoid and Ted's sword is going off.

The creature missing with attacks but manages to grapple kenneth. It grapples kenneth with that look in his eye.

Round 01

  • johnny; casts disonant whispers at the evil for minor damage. It moves away from johnny dragging kenneth with it.
  • i; move closer to the room and prepair to cast Bless. I order the homoculos to stand guard in the hall and attack anyone it does not know.
  • ted; moves into the room and slashed with his whispering sword. He swings and misses.
  • steven; Channel divinity on the undead but only manages to hurt him but does not drive him back and he does not let go of kenneth.
  • kenneth; he uses acrobatics to breakout and succeeds in breaking out of the grapple. He uses a ki point for two attacks and hits twice. He then moves out of the room as the evil has used its reaction
  • evil; it jumps up and attacks kenneth. It attacks twice but hits once for minor damage.
  • randal; casts eldritch blast with three blasts. He hits twice for serious damage.

Round 02

  • johnny; thinks about his move. He casts viscious mockery but
  • i; i move into the room and cast bless to catch ted, johnny, and kenneth
  • ted; slashed with sword for major damage
  • steven; went outside and looked at the town but nothing going on.
  • kenneth; uses a focus point and hits for 5 strikes for awesome damage. After the attacks the creature is damaged and showing bit of its inside and is now dead

Johnny takes time to look in the mirror and nothng magical. Johnny finds a pair of silver earings that he takes without any of us knowing. We are no where close to seeing him steal these.

As kenneth takes time to clean himself, randal goes to the only other small room and finds a linnen closet. He closes and moves on. The road now takes us up the stairs. I use the wand of secrets and point to where the secret door and trap is. As i move back to the toppled night table i see that there are drag marks from the side of the bed to across the room to the secret wall.

Steven moves up to the doors and casts shiliegh and pushes the door open. He sees a window straight ahead about 10 feet and it is dusty with webs. He is definatly in the attack. Kenneth moves up the stairs and gets next to johnny.

I go up with randal and johnny to the door and discover that it goes to the same stairs to the attack. I move to the stairs but watch out back. Ted moves up. the attic is small with only 8 foot ceilings. As steven comes around the corner he sees a bare hallway that is an entrance to the attack. He does see that there are four doors to choose from. We realise that we are above the stairs below. Steven moves to the end of the hallway. Kenneth looks up as he is moving down the hall.

randall walks around so that he does not have to use the secret door. Walks right through the secret door and takes the ornamental gauntlets and the helmet. I take time to move into the room and order the homoculus to alert us if anything appears that we do not recognise.

ted tries to kick open the door but it is locked. Ted did not kick through. He is able to get the door open and finds another childs room with a toy chest and a doll house. The doll house looks like this house. Ted looks in the corner next to the bed. There is a cultist nearly cut inhalf on the bed. We see the woman we met earlier, Sara-sanda. She is wrapping a bandage on her leg. She is not near dead but she is hurt.

steven is stillin the hallway and he opens the door at the end. This is another bedroom. This room is very dusty and unused. There is another small stove. Nothing importand in this room. Kenneth just keeps watch. Randal moves into the room with sara-sandra and asks what happened. She is trying to recover from a fight. Randal goes in, asks her if she is OK, then walks out.

Johnny moves into the hall and searches the 3rd door but does not open it.

I move in and shift to the dwarf and bend down to quietly heal her. I tell her to stop fucking around and start trusting us. I can tell that there is soemthing about her that is mental. Sara-sanda tells us that there are secret doors in the doll house that match the real house. We look at the doll house but no basement. As we examine the doll house we see that there is a secret door that connects to the room next to ours. We now know that we need to go the next room and open the door. In the model the room is filled with furnature covered with sheets.

Ted moves to the room down the hall and kicks open the door. The room is exactly like the dolls house. Furnature covered in sheets. I take a moment to look at the doll house and do not see that the dollhouse has changed as the real house has changed. Randal points out that we have seen more than the number of cultists that we originally believed were in the house.

randal goes into the bedromm and looks up. The room is unused and very dusty. There is a window and basic furnature. Johnny takes time to look at the drag marks and sees where they go. He searched the room and finds nothing.

I examine the dollhouse and see that there are severl figures in the house. there is a very aristicratic figure with dark hair and storng face. Ted takes 5 mintues to cast detect magic on the items we ahve collected, the dollhouse, and the figures. As we are talkking, sara-sandy tells us that the figure is of Lord Strahd Von Sovish. The doll of Strahd is magical and radiating magic. We either see that the Strahd statue is either magic of someting inside the doll. Steven rocks an investigation check in the covered furniature room but finds nothing.

Randal picks up the doll and finds a piece of paper rolled into a tight scroll. He unrolls the scroll and reads the contents. Johnny tries to read the scroll and it is a Detect Good or Evil. Cantrip asks if he can carry the scroll of Detect Evil and Good.

Johnny checks the secret door and we all get lined up to go down the stairs. I call my homoculous back to me. Steven opens the secret door and we see a 5 foot serviceable spiral staircase. We get into marching order. Steven casts light and moves first down the steps. These steps decent through all levels of the house. They go down about 50 feet which takes us under ground. The walls are hardpacked earth. Someone has tunnelled into the ground. I take time to use the rod and tell the party where the rod is located.

At the bottom of the tunnel we can smell the earth and hear very faint chanting but we can not tell which direction. Ted takes a turn and heads to the picnic table and enters the room. He sees support beams. This room contains a table with bones scattered on the floor. The bones appear to be humanoid with bite marks. Ted moves through the room and we enter another chamber. Johnny takes a little pause at the end of the group and looks down the hall. He can see another T intersection but nothing important. As the party moves on he manages to find another set of stairs that move down. He has allowed the party to get severy moves ahead while he scouts.

As we move down the rooms. We enter a room with moldy skeletons handing on the wall. There is a statue of Lord Strahd in the alcove. We are at the end of the hall and I take time to sense the next piece of the rod. It is in the same direction and slighly below us. I take time to cast Shocking Grasp into my homunculus.

Ted casts Earth Ear and immediately hears, "she is slaing, She is risen, Come to us Lord Strahd and receive our gift". I turn to the sara-sandi and tell her to stop screwing about and tell us what is going on. She tells us that they are trying to call Lord Strahd.

Ted moves down the stairs and sees a larger room. The chanting is getting louder and we can actually hear the words spoken clearly. We see 4 shambling mounds moving around. They are hugh creatures that are moving around. We back up the stairs and Kaw comes forward and shows that lightning is bad and fire is good. We have not been seen at this point. Johnny is planning to cast hypnotic gaze on the shambling mounds.

Asher moves to the bottom of the stairs and plans to cast 5th level Fireball for and manages to deal major damage to all 4 shambling mounds. He noticed that the mounds should have He then moves back from the doorway. He hears screams from the other room.

Round 01

  • ted; strikes for minor damage
  • steven; he casts green flame blade for medium damage and sees that it does not take the full damage
  • kenneth; moves and provokes an AOO but does not get hit. He uses his Dragon Breath fire damage in a line and hits. He also notices that the fire damage does not do the full damage.
  • sham A; atts steven and hits minor bludg. and med. lightning and pulls him closer. Steven is able to pull it inside. He is not restrained and blind. It attacks ted and misses
  • sham D; atts kenneth wth three and only hits once for minor bludg and med lightning
  • sham C; atts kenneth and missing all three times
  • sham B; atts kenneth with three and crits on the first for med light and med bludg. Kenneth is able to resist getting bulled in. All total he takes serious damage for bludg and light. as kenneth entered the battle with only 14 hp he is down.
  • randal; drops hex on the one eating kenneth (sham B). He fires eldridge blast and only hits once for medium damage
  • johnny; He is going to cast Wall of Ice and manages to catch the shambling mound and deal major damage. He accidently pushes steven to the other side of the wall because does not know that he is inside the sham A
  • i; casts bless and intend to get everyone but Steven is on the other side of the ice wall. I cast the spell at 4th level but only manage to get everyone except steven.

Round 01

  • ted; casts miricle healing on kenneth to restore HP
  • steven; tries to escape but fails and takes minor lightning damage
  • kenneth; stands up and notices the ice wall. He uses wholeness of body to heal minor HP
  • sham A; att the wall
  • sham B; att the wall and makes it through the wall but takes med damage from the cold
  • sham C; att the wall
  • sham D; att the wall
  • randal; moves up with great weapon master and misses (AC 14)
  • johnny; still concentrating and casts Dissonant Whispers for medium damage and forces the sham B back through the wall section. Ted, Kenneth, and Randal take AOO for a total of douchie damage and killed it. The dead creature is blocking the hole.
  • i; upcast Cure Wounds and cast as 5th level spell for major healing to kenneth

Round 02

  • ted; hold his action until something appears
  • steven; casts cure mass wounds on himself

  • Secrets: We can use to get 1 minutes of advantage for the entire part for any d20 rolls
